Simplifying a Globetrotter...12v refer?

Have decided to get rid of the black tank on my 63 globetrotter in favor of a composting toilet and started wondering what other things I could get rid of. My refrigerator is a 1971 model dometic so am thinking of switching to a 12v model. Cabinets are no issue because they are mostly gone. I even toyed with a chest type refrigerator because they don't dump the cold air on the floor. Would love to go propane free if that was possible. Has anyone done anything like this on a similar trailer. I'll try anything but would rather not be on the bleeding edge. Need to know what type refrigerator you have used and the source. Still getting rid of stuff and would love any open and airy designs you might have pictures of.
