In the real world you get tired of bringing gas daily, and no generators will hold a large supply. You can jury rig a 6 gal marine tank to feed a small generator.
I'll bet he favors windows open over a/c for most days.

You are correct, in order to provide a full 50AMP service (approximately) using generators, dual EU7000i are required, at $5K apiece. Not to mention over 1 gallon per hour per unit to run. The dual EU2200 provide just over 30AMP, at $1.3K each.
