We find ourselves using back country county roads often, seeking public lands to set up the Airstream for the evening. I am studying the Rock Formations for what I am seeking. It is all in the... hunt.
I probably should GPS some of the trailers we have come across by accident. Often being used for storage. Some are just sitting.
I learned by buying vintage vehicles, rebuilding engines, clutches, wheel bearings and other fixes to flip. Good bodies... vintage... hmmm maybe potential.
Travel Trailers... way too much work for me to consider. They are out there. You just have to... look.
You can even scan aerial views on your computer today. I would expect the easy pickings are over and you need to go off into the back country where there is the possibility of anything to be discovered.
A BARN is where everything ends up.
Vintage mechanical Slot Machines were made illegal in
1950... and stashed in out buildings on farms and ranches. Junk to some. Stuff to fix to others. Jukeboxes that played 78 RPM records were another country barn hunt. Enjoyed the Hunt. Enjoyed fixing them. Wife enjoyed waving... good bye to the stuff.
Now an Airstream fills the empty space. And an Oliver Elite II... for company.
Now that I have a traveling home on wheels... I no longer am looking for things to fix. Finding was the fun part. Fixing... very time consuming. Time is no longer unlimited for me as time is not as generous, as in my youth, with unlimited time.
Best to take a photograph... and keep on going. Ahhhhh. Let someone else discover this stuff. Finding was the fun part.
I found some photographs taken while taking short cuts out west. My junk dealing and fixing days are done. But you just never know...
