Near Lake Tahoe

For those of you who like to fish or just get away from it all, Hope Valley off Highway 88 is a place to enjoy fee camping. There are sever places along the road to Blue Lakes, which skirts the Carson River, to pull off. Early summer can be buggy but the vistas are worth it. In the Fall - the best time of the year there - most people are gone and you have it all to yourself. The hillsides are aflame with the "turning" aspen and redtails circle overhead. It's a great place to spend a week and if you get bored, it's only 30 min. to the casinos. In the Fall dress warm it is often sub zero. Hope you enjoy. Ernie

The Fall is our favorite time in Hope Valley. 40 years ago when I was an avid photographer it was a place I visited often. Since then I married, raised a family, lived in Carson City, Nv. and now Placerville, Ca. never that far to swing that way. Hope Valley has seen little change except more good people have discovered it but have preserved it also. Anyone contemplating traveling Highway 50 between Carson City and Sacramento just redirect your rig one Highway to the South (HWY 88). You will not regret the little extra time. What's the hurry anyway? Thanks for this thread. A good way to begin your participation with us. Welcome.
Neil and Lynn.

ernie2007 is really 1980ernie

Hi all,

I have really been a member for several years (two rivets). But I had problems with the system after I edited my profile - it wouldn't recognize me. Anyway, on watershed events ,the Chinese change their name to commerate the event and since I am retiring after 27 years in the music business, I chose to take a new name. Jan and I love to camp in unorganized places and look forward to any years in our AS which I am remodeling stem to stern. Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Best wishes, Ernie
