I've Been Everywhere, Man: Hank Snow

I've Been Everywhere, Man
Crossed the Desert's bare, man...

Rolf Harris- 1962
Hank Snow- 1963 (my favorite!!!!!!) 1,183,094 views
Lynn Anerson- 1968
Johnny Cash- 1996

Find the song on a Google Search, play it once, three... five times.

Get off your buttocks, man. The sequel. (Not really.)

Play the tune. Load up that Airstream and get on the road. Find the one you love the most and say which artist. Each had a different version... but ONE gets you into the mood to start Boondocking... tomorrow! Ohhhhh Weeee says I.

Return home EXHAUSTED... and back to being a Normal Human Bean, like ME.

Some day... you may be able to sing: I've Been Everywhere Man... BUT... then list where you have not been, but DO IT to before you are pushing up daisies some where with your name, misspelled on a headstone.

Driving with the Radio ON...

Son. You're gonna' drive me to drinking, if you don't stop drivin' that Hot... Rod... Lincoln. Charlie Ryan (1955) and later Commander Cody and His Lost Planet.

Boondocking is what we do. We do not know better to try anything else. We do find RV Parks when necessary, like Tucson for the Rock Show in February... but not often, we just do not fit in.

Being 'different' is hard to fit into those who meet often and for years. The wilderness accepts you as you are. We are welcomed and feel comfortable not to say the wrong things among company we do not know. A Cowboy without his spurs and boots... kind of odd feeling.

It takes us to places that others would not consider traveling. It is one of the last vestiges of being Free and keep grounded to what is real and just do it the best way we can.

Nancy and I have been everywhere it seems. But the Rocky Mountains give us everything we need to recharge our batteries, sort of saying. The fresh air and remote areas are like Solar Panels on our Airstream. Returning home becomes a new experience of living outside of our trailer experience on the road.

Our two Blue Heelers are always anxious to go and to get... there. No matter where. What the weather may be. What the morning will bring as we get up and look outside our Airstream's door. Just look and aaaahhhhh.

It is difficult for many to understand. You must be a bit too much of one thing and less of some other things to make it all work. Independent comes to mine and Independence of mind when in strange places that are unfamiliar. Some cannot make the transition as the place is nothing but rock, ridges and maybe trees... often in the desert a juniper near a water spring.

When the Sun sets I tune in the AM Radio and catch these distant radio stations that fade in and out... to keep up with the day's events. Nancy is reading a book. The Blue Heelers are curled up on their pillows... catching a few winks.

Me... I am a P. in the A., but mean well. Just that independent spirit that cannot be controlled. Nancy understands and puts me to sleep... Sometimes with my bottle. Usually, not.

Maybe our paths may cross some day. Bring the dust with you. We thrive to taste the dust at every place we manage to discover. It is part of what we enjoy.

Ray,
I assume since you live in the desert that....
"You've been through the desert on a horse(or AS) with no name."

This is America after all
