DART BOARD Camping for Whiners... :)

Put a State Map on a wall. Put up a County Map. Put up something that looks like a map but not Hawaii... as you live in the lower 48. If you live in Hawaii... probably pick another Island.

Alaskans?... they are here now and want to get out of the Lower 48 and back where men are men and, well whatever. It is getting hot in Wyoming. At least above freezing around noon. Buffalo, Wyoming comes to mind. Get out of there.

If you live in the Netherlands... come on... wake up. How about Austria for a start?

If you are a poor dart tosser... put up a USA and Canadian map on the wall. Canada has lots of empty space for Americans. Mostly north of Calgary in January... but lots of empty RV sites. Ehhhh? The Calgary Stampede cowboys will not be in Cheyenne, Wyoming Frontier Days in 2020 cause the Americans are afraid of horses catching something or other? The Texans and Canadians whip everyone at the Cheyenne Bars and at the Rodeo. Get with it, man. These are cowboys... not city folk looking for tee shirt sales.

Before you go off the deep end and follow the above directions... do it on a Garage Wall. OK? Jeezzz... this is not literal or English mojo.

Get a dart. A spear. A rifle and do an Annie Oakley. Get some imagination, for once in your life.

You will note, most do not post photographs of themselves camping. Because they are whiny wimpy campers due to the RV Park Covid19 closings and exclude campers right now? This will change, if you are patient. It is because their Airstream is in the RV parking lot or in the RV garage with a flat tire from sitting. It is safe. You, not the trailer since your 16 inch Michelins have been missing for two months and you have not noticed.

Like you are in front of the computer wanting to know if I am on some kind of... medication? I am not. Peanut butter sandwich and preserves... though. You will be if you do not pack up the Airstream and go anywhere... does not have to be level, either.

I post photos, mostly of Nancy. She is hot. You bet. It is 102F here in the Las Vegas area. In a week we are gone and the rest of you can rest in peace.

Toss whatever onto the map. If it sticks. Go there. Lake Tahoe... OK, go NEAR the Lake. It is beautiful but the Casino Parking Lots are blocked. You are on your own.

Forget looking at RV Park listings and Rallies that are cancelled. Just find a Map of the Oregon Trail like the 2016 Wyoming Adventure that many had plenty of complaints about the management... and if you do not like to eat dust and stink after a week... just whine and stay home.

Cheyenne Frontier Days 2020: Cancelled?

Cheyenne Frontier Days, I have been told, will not be held this year.

The FIRST time ever.

So, black out Cheyenne on the Wyoming map dart game. I am sure the smaller rodeos will all be open in the State and parking with trailers (with horses for sure, maybe Airstreams if you look like you are not going anywhere, no matter).

We lived two blocks from the Fairgrounds. Made a couple bucks letting people camp in the alley by our garage for a $1.

Pretty sure that the Calgary Stampede has been cancelled this year too! Hopefully the borders open up on June 21st!

Sadly, all of the major rodeos in the state have been cancelled. These include, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Sheridan WYO Rodeo, Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous, Cody Stampede, Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo in Casper, and the Laramie Jubilee Days. People are not happy here. I think there may be a lynch mob forming outside of the governors house. Rumors are that the smaller local rodeos are a go.

It was almost 80 degrees at noon in Buffalo today, darned near hot. I'm expecting the rivers and creeks to get wiggy in the next few days. The snow is going to be melting.

Airnav looks like you are new here. Welcome!

Looks like you both read and responded. Just saying.... Airstreaming has been a bit slow lately so sometimes the mind wanders and the writing gets creative.

You're complaining because you have to wait four more weeks? Were you planning a trip in early Feb? Why did you even post this? Post 12-22-2017 #32

Post #15 from jhumphreys took care of it and made the correct trailer and got the message the SAME day of the first post. The AIRFORUMS rock, I say. The rest of the posts were very interesting.

We are just having some fun. Relax and join us. I recalled this Thread under They Built Us the Wrong Trailer in Dollars and Cents. I liked our 25 foot International, the front bed is what we had in our 2014. Wow. Small World isn't it?

Flying any TH55-A's, lately? I haven't either. Been 48 years ago... maybe 49. That first Auto Rotation was a real hoot from 1,000 feet.

I took my own advice. Put a New Mexico highway map on the garage wall... stepped back ten feet... wap... looks like Silver City, New Mexico. Right on the Continental Divide of the USA.

Could stand over the Continental Divide and add a photo to the Dart Game. Oh.. I hope it does not tickle.

Be heading there next month. Must have been my lucky day. Just north are the Gila Cliff Dwellings.

Airnav... what was your question or reason for looking? I can give you a short answer if needed.

Throwing darts? Pinch lightly between the thumb and index finger, take a deep breath, exhale and let that baby fly. Keep your eye on the target.

Anyone else take a shot and missed? Where did YOU end up going? Please... not Silver City.

That’s not funny,

That’s not a map on my butt, it’s a birthmark! I’ve told you that a million times! And that dart really hurt!

To all who are interested in rodeos, Prescott AZ Frontier Day's Rodeo is scheduled to start on June 29th. Tickets are on sale as I type.

Ray, I've stood over the continental divide, equator, tropic of cancer and tropic of capricorn and none of them have tickled, so go stand without worry.

Is there a Flat Spot near Prescott for a Rodeo Grounds?

When we towed the 27 footer leaving south out of Prescott... I felt a tickle going down that two lane road dug into the side of the mountain.

Probably the Prescott Tickle, I have been told. May go back to make sure.

Ray, you're an inspiration to us mere mortals.

I've been out camping twice. Once to Montana (long drive!) and the second time to a spot in Colorado. Both times were no-hookups. I ain't afraid of no power!

I've got a few projects to complete on the trailer (reseal windows, new stabilizer jack, recaulk the cargo door ramp frame, measure for solar panels) and then I'm ready to head out again. The dart method wouldn't work for me. I would end up in the ocean or New York City. Frankly, I would rather drown than be in NYC.

I sometimes contemplate a Drunkard’s Walk trip. Casting dice for each leg to determine direction, distance, and duration of stay. Use a multi-sided gaming dice. Avoid direct back tracks, set a minimum distance of 100mi, and a minimum duration of 2 nights.
Could be fun

Craps Dice and keep it simple

Love wagering at a Craps Table.

Hate losing at a Craps Table.

Six sided cubes. Pip Count of 1 through 6.

Toss onto a blanket or a table. Just to make the game appear... Honest. You will understand after my explanation.

- Seven or an Eleven... Winner Seven or Eleven. Stay ONE more day. Lay back, take it easy.

- Two, Three or Twelve... Craps... Pack UP, Leave Immediately. Evil is coming.

- All other combinations are NEUTRAL. Keep shooting for one of the above combinations. Each WHINER get one shot. Then Pass the Dice IF a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are thrown. These numbers are WHINER Rolls. Booo Hooo.

There are EIGHT ways to toss a 7 or 11 on a Roll of two dice.
There are FOUR ways to toss a 2, 3 or 12 on a Roll of two dice.

There are 36 different possible Dice Outcomes. Six Sides times Six Sides on each die. Same totals, but different pips show on the dice. Example 8 can be rolled five ways: 6-2, 2-6, 5-3, 3-5, 4-4

If you DO NOT LIKE where you are at. Reverse the two. The other person will not realize that this changes the Odds of a Roll. This way YOU are the Dungeon Master.

IF the Whiner did not work hard with Mathematics... YOU are THE Dungeon Master and change numbers for YOUR best Odds.

If you LIKE where you are at... I see you are catching on.

Tadpole Ridge

Ray saw that Silver City had a forest fire at Tadpole Ridge from a lighting strike.

I threw at Colorado and hit Red River NM. It won't be boondocking, but dry camping. Will be leaving in a week. I am ready to get out and enjoy some cool mountain air.

Ray if you are ever in a spot and have room for a 28 foot lifted Airstream with 16 inch tires and don't mind the company let me know.

My weakness is the truck, a Dodge Ram 3500 dually 2 wheel drive. It's the running boards that I have to worry about.

I just need to stress-- please, please, please.

Those of us concerned about CV-19 are not just a bunch of wimps and whiners. It is real. It could make you good and sick, if not kill you.

If your dart on the map lands in a rural area, or a remote spot where the nearest medical services are in a rural area-- please realize that small communities in the boonies have limited health care facilities. Rural communities should not be ask to shoulder the risk and potential health care burden of folks fleeing the congested cities.

Our local hospital in the central Kootenays, for example, has 20 beds and one respirator. We may welcome your tourist dollars but we do not welcome the possibility that you are carrying CV-19 and could infect us locals who have not had to grapple with it to date.

Social distancing is becoming a joke. Nobody stays 6 feet apart anymore, do they?

Please keep current with the ordinary news. The Canadian border is currently closed to all but essential services from the USA. Americans cannot just boogie on up to Canada and expect to cross the border on the strength of a smile and an Airstream.

There is no telling when the Canadian border will open to non-Canadians.

As a US-born dual citizen living in Canada, I could travel to the US on my US passport, but to return to Canada on my Canadian passport, I would have to self-quarantine for two weeks.

I might just mention to Canadians reading my post that BC provincial parks are now closed to non-BC residents. The reason is that BC has managed to control its rate of CV-19 infection and death in a way that the eastern provinces and Alberta have not.

Please don't mess with your health, fellow 'streamers, or the health of anybody else who may have a more serious attitude towards CV-19-- for good reason.

Just wanted to add that the Canadian border shut-down is set to expire on June 21, but I don't think Canadians believe that it will open so quickly. Probably there will be an extention.

We were within seven miles of the Canadian Border in Montana. NO traffic going north or south when we headed towards Kalispell.

Montana was operating fairly normal when in Kalispell. Walked up to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts picked up a dozen glazed and six fitters. The employees were masked... customers need not. Made sense to us. The trailer and tow vehicle were attached at Costco and I did some "Man Shopping".

Leaving Yellowstone north into Gardner, Montana... was booming, crowded, people outside at tables... busy. Parking spots were scarce. What a difference from... Las Vegas... dead.

Idaho was booming, swimming beaches crowded, boating everywhere at the lakes. Traffic in some towns was bumper to bumper. RV Parks were packed.
