Suggestions for boondocking …. For the the older models run your fridge off propane to limit the draw on your batteries and then add the additional solar panel and solar controller. I have 2 (100 hr) lithium ion batteries and 2(180watt) solar panels and can basically stay off grid for an indefinite amount of time in my 23ft international. Running the two fantastic and all the necessary lighting 24/7. Obviously no air conditioning nor microwave/convection oven while doing this and the hot water heated via propane when needed.

Propane appliances are great but Airstream stoped using these in the last few years. 2019 might be the last year. They went to AC/DC fridges and changed up the hot water tank to a tankless unit.

The need for much more battery capacity comes with these changes which is unfortunate for new Airstreamers trying to figure out why their batteries don't cut it for even an overnight stay unplugged.

My brand new 2023 23 FBT has two 30 lb propane tanks powering the furnace, tankless water heater, and 3 burner stove top.

Sounds like somethings are working. I am glad to hear that the tankless systems are efficient to use.

It seems that an abundance of propane devices are still showing up in the new trailers.

Is the electric fridge the main or primary drain on the batteries?

Yes, by far. The smallest ones will use about 30Ah a day, and the larger ones will easily use 50-100Ah per day. All will use even more on hotter days with warm nights.
