If it wired as suggested in your post. The heaters will only be active for the time needed to heat the battery(s) to the temperature that they can receive a charge.
What are you referring to as a ‘thermostat’ in your example?

Hi

As mentioned earlier, when you hook up the signal to turn on the heaters, a thermostat cuts in when they get below about 40 degrees. They heat up to about 50 degrees and it cuts out again. They cycle between the two points as long as the "heaters are turned on".
