boondocking in Big Bend Park Texas

Anyone boondocked in or near Big Bend Park Texas?
We have a friend who has open land(rough) near the park. Said we can park there. But I am having safety concerns.. our trailer would be so bright at night in the middle of nowhere! No neighbors.....Anyone ever had problems? Like being held up for your vehicle/money/trailer theft?
In Texas we kinda have a problem with illegals roaming west texas and the south part texas.
Any ideas where to park that would be safe? or an RV Park near Big Bend?
Thanks

Hello

We were in Big Bend National Park before Christmas... no illegals but if you have pets with you BEWARE... Coyotes were out around our campground, bobcats out 100 ys away. This was all in broad daylight. Also Javelin-as are there. Keep dogs on very short lead and don't take hiking.

there are illegals! beware! park where someone will hear or see you....there is a private campground on the east side of the park. Stillwell's, there is primitive camping $5, includes showers, water and electric, or full hook ups.
I just spent 2+ weeks in the primitive and it was fine.
I have been going to the Big Bend area for the last 6 years and the illegals are increasing.
The border patrol is present all around the Rio Grande.
Go prepared with foods etc. it is far and few between. Which makes the beauty of the area.
take care in your travels...God bless
