Airstream Boondocking Hosts

Where can I find a directory of Airstream owners who invite / allow other Airstreamers to boondock overnight at their homes / farms? Thanks!

Where are you headed?
I have a lovely 16 acre place in Aitkin, MN you can camp on.
There is power there but no water or sewer.
On a small river between two lakes.
My row boat is there if you'd like to take a spin in it.
Let me know when you're coming and I'll get it mowed for you.

If you FB, this may help:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f48/...ng-156571.html

OR

Login to the Airforum website.

Look a few rows down from the top of the page for a solid blue line with tabs.
Select the "community" tab.

From the community tab drop down select "member list"

When the member list opens select "member search", then from the drop down tab select "advanced search"

When the advanced search opens scroll down and fill in the "state" where you want to stay. Then scroll down and select "courtesy parking" and select "yes" from the drop down. Leave all other spaces blank.

This will give you a list of Airforum members within the state you selected that offer a place to park overnight while traveling.

If you find someone who is in the area you are traveling to, send them a PM to ask if they can accommodate you on the date you are in that area. Ask them what accommodations they have (will your vehicles fit their space) They may offer parking in their driveway in town or they might have a rural setting with plenty of space.

Well I had a strange experience stayin with an overnight parking host in his driveway and now I kinda avoid them. But what I have found is that local business are always worth an ask before headin to a Walmart parkin lot (if there is one). Sometimes I'll eat a meal or do a little shoppin someplace and ask if I can stay parked for the night, they often say yes. Or they'll tell me a safe spot for street parkin.

I'm sure most of the hosts aren't as weird as mine was but once was enough.

Well, I'm not much of one to speak badly of others, I'm sure this man was just havin a bad night. The sum of it is that he had a wife and dogs livin with him but he was real lonely anyhow. I was tired and I had a headache and wanted to go to bed but he needed someone to cry his troubles to and it ended up bein me. Poor guy was almost in tears. He was probly a tiny bit drunk. I felt bad for him but listenin to his troubles for hours on end wasn't what I had planned for the night.

Sometimes it is a blessing to be able to listen to someone's troubles. You may not have been able to solve them, but the mere fact that you listened may have helped.

I agree it's hard to sit still when a stranger tells you all his troubles, but I would chalk it up to experience, and hope you helped somehow. I've had it happen a few times, and not convenient times either. Humans do need to be humane to each other when one of them is in pain.

Yep, I sat and listened and attempted to be as sympathetic as I could, bein someone who treasures bein alone. It was just very uncomfortable. Can't say I enjoyed it.

Yup, it can be real hard on the listener at times. I'm very glad you were able to be sympathetic. Sometimes pain just needs to be shared to lessen it, but shared joy multiplies.

Understand the need to be alone. With me it's a cultural thing. Wife, however, talks almost constantly. Sometimes I'm glad I work days and she works nights.... probably helped keep us married these 47 years so far.
