12 v fans are important if you are boondocking. Excuse me if this has been covered already in another thread, but I used the search engine to find “12 Volt Fan” threads and came up empty.
The standard for the best
12v fan has been the “Endless Breeze” fan by FanTastic. We have had one for 6 or 7 years and it has worked great. We paid about $60 for it. I stumbled across a Chinese knock off of it called the “Boundless Breeze” fan available from Amazon for $40. I checked the price of the Endless Breeze fan and it is now about $110. I ordered one and the performance is very similar to the Endless Breeze. Now I didn’t do a detailed comparison test with noise levels and current measurements. I may do this later.
I became aware of some other
12v personal fans at the vintage Airstream rally in Tennessee a few weeks ago and ordered some.
The first one I ordered was a personal desk fan with a rechargeable battery. This will run 200 hours! The battery gives it some weight so it is very stable. It works well sitting on a table outside with you sitting next to it or on the counter keeping you cool in the kitchen. You can also aim it straight away, up or down. This is a nice feature. We tried it at night sleeping, but the lights are too bright. We really like this fan and it is $40 from Amazon. We will probably order another one so we each have one while sitting outside under the awning.
Now we have usb receptacles available next to where we sleep so I ordered two 6” fans that operate while plugged into usb receptacles. They were only $15 from Amazon. These work great while sleeping. These can also be aimed. We run them on low and they are very quiet and no bothersome lights.
