Tree damage.

A friend has some front end damage and is looking for a competent repair person to replace the panels.
The trailer is a 1959 Land Yacht located in Redding California. They are also in the process of filing an insurance claim, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Fixing panels is extremely expensive. I had one panel replaced last year….$4600.

The biggest issue would be having the parts available.

Vinnie's official webpage says "We work on all Airstream models from 2000 on" but it never hurts to ask.

My first thought would be to try a Paintless Dent Repair guy who does aluminum. I know it looks bad, but those guys work miracles.

And the biggest issue is having the parts for an old airstream 60 years old. Not saying there aren’t any…it’s just finding them. And that has to increase the cost of repair. Not sure how an insurance company can even get estimates or a repair place even make a reasonable estimate.

I agree that the best solution may be a dent repair as Mollysdad stated. I know of someone that had it done. You can see a bit of a dent, but it looks way better.

Contact the mothership in Ohio. Your friend can get all the necessary damage information and work estimate for his insurance carrier as well as the actual parts and work completed at the factory should Vinnie's be unavailable.

I suffered damage from a tree a few years ago and coordinated a wholly satisfactory resolution with Chris Burch, service advisor, at 937-596-6111. You can also leave an initial inquiry to start the process at service_support@Airstream.com.
