So...this is what happens when a lacrosse ball hits a very expensive tin can. Any ideas on how to pull out the dent?

It should be pushed out from the inside and I know that is a pain. That does give you the opportunity to reseal the joint and replace any damaged/loose rivets with buck rivets vs. Olympic.

I tried a slide hammer suction puller on a similar dent and it would not budge it. That seam is pretty rigid. Puller worked great in areas with no seam.

It isn’t going to “pop” out, but some of the forums participants had had pretty good results getting dents like that out using “pointless dent removal” techniques. There is a thread where the poster used a piece of plywood and a spall inner tube to “suck” a dent out on the end cap using vacuum. Search for “inner tube dent removal” and you can probably find that thread.
Good luck!

I am afraid, because it is on a seam, that attempts to suck, or pull, or roll out will be ineffective and/or unacceptable. IMO, this is an insurance claim and JC repair @ Roughly $3500.

It’s worth a try. A sheet of plywood and a small inner tube from a wheelbarrow or the like just big enough to span the dent might do the trick.

Not until the adjuster takes a look and writes an estimate. Otherwise, the insurance company may deny it when it turns out badly.

True. Very true. Any excuse the insurance company can use to deny a claim they will use.
Get an independent appraisal always! The insurance company’s adjuster is guaranteed to be biased toward the outfit that gives the paycheck...
