The P/N you seek is AN455AD4-4. Try a google search. They are not very common anymore and have be superseded by the universal head MS20470AD. Again the first number afer the alloy designation is diameter in 1/32ths and the length after the dash is in 1/16ths. As you are in Europe there are metric equivalents but I do not know what they are.
I have spoken with Hanson and they would have to custom make up AN455-AD5-4 and AN455-AD5-8 for me. Cost would be around 4c each compared with 2c to 3c each from VTS. With 10,000 minimum per body length and a ten week lead time.
I have spoken with Aircraftspruce, (Kim), they don't carry any AN455 rivets.
I'm thinking of sending Hanson my original sample and having them make up a batch with the 5/32 body. But don't wish to reinvent the wheel.
Any last minute advice before I spend out unnecessary bucks with be great.
Rivet name breakdown
Bazier Head = AN455
2117-T4 = "AD" with dimple
Body dia in 32s of an inch 5/32: "5"
body Length in 16s of an inch 1/4 "4" or 1/2 "8"
First have them send you a sample of MS20470-AD5-4. They are almost the same. I have used them and you would hard pressed to find them when mixed with original. And they have a dimple.
Hey Sam, just thinking out loud but would the snap be the same? I mean if the head shape is different to the universal MS20470 then that would be a consideration. (there's always the tape up technique but I suspect that wouldn't be quite your cup of tea).
