Question Should I run or buy and repair

We have been shopping for an Airstream for a while and thought we had found the right one until I got these pictures.. I believe that it is fixable but not sure how much would it cost?
Mechanically, I believe it is solid, having a new Isuzu engine in it.
What do you think? Should I run or buy and repair?

Run unless you don't have anything to do in life for the next few years.

Lots of work needed there. Roof might be 1K to repair easy. Front would need to be re-done. You couldn't buy that part. Paint, new custom parts, joy!

Welcome to Air Forums. We could use more info about the coach you are looking at. The Isuzu is very desirable in an Airstream. The coach is 20 to 30 years old so dings happen and most people accept it as adding character. Water leaks are a common issue but also part of ongoing maintenance. The rear plastic bumper fairing is repairable with a little effort and very little cost or replaceable for more $$$.

Some people want a pristine vehicle while others are more interested in travel and camping and accept the signs of wear and tear. You will have to decide what will make you happy. Personally I wouldn't give those minor cosmetics a second thought but that's just my opinion.

It looks cosmetic to me. Depends on cost and if you want a pristine rig. If the inside is good and everything works, it could be a nice entry level rig to get into. It's not new by any stretch. If the previous owners used it, and it looks like they did, I'm sure they enjoyed it. Front end looks like its been to a lot of fun places and has had a lot of road time. Or it got stuck behind a truck with no mud flaps on a gravel road the first trip out. Back end top, low branch in a national park with a bad spotter while parking. Wonder what that convention was like to watch. With use and age, things happen. If its solid and everything works and the price is right, I'd be more concerned with the condition of the tires and how old they are. Give it some thought, some not so attractive people are the best people to be around if their hearts are good. Enjoy!
