Segment protector damaged in crosswinds
Maybe someone could help me. We were driving our 2005 Safari home from Yellowstone and battled some pretty heavy crosswinds. I noticed that the driver side segment protector was no longer rigid and was bending and bouncing like it wasn't fully attached. I pulled over and noticed that several of the top rivets on the inside of the hinge side had pulled out. This caused the top border/trim piece to break in two places. The panel no longer had rigidity and scratched and dented the aluminum panel beneath. Has anyone had this happen and what should I do to fix it?
Can I order the border trim wrap piece to replace the broken trim, or do I have to buy a whole new panel?
What size rivets and kind of rivets should I use to reattach the hinge to the under panel? I'm attaching photos, hoping it makes it more clear. Any help is appreciated!
