Rivets Missing? New '23 30' GT
Hey...... Going over our camper getting ready for it's first use. I noticed this yesterday; 3 holes across the top of the door.
I guessing rivets were never installed but should have been?
Can someone confirm?
Thanks

They look like they popped during shipping or your trip home. AS will fix under warranty.

Get a good rivet gun ( Marson is a good one) if you don't have one with an assortment of 1/8" and 3/16" rivets of various lengths. AirGear store and Airstream Supply both sell a kit with a gun, drill bits, and pop rivets.

Thanks for the info.
So this is a common, ongoing occurrence?

Those look like outside rivets. I would not use a rivet gun. Those are buck rivets. Get those replaced under warranty!

I would get in touch with your dealer asap. I don’t hear about outside rivets popping off like I hear about inside rivets. MINIICS04 is right, that’s definitely a warranty repair. The dealer should have seen it.
FYI, our 2020 GT has not lost a rivet in 30,000+ towed miles. Inside or out.

Seems a new phenomenon
I wonder what changed on assembly. Is this not the second post on a buck rivet missing?
Cover it with a dab of sealant and some weather tape
Until JC can repair it

Sure should not have happened so early. I had the popped buck rivet near the door on our Classic 33. We have also popped over a dozen interior rivets. I have lowered tire pressures and reduced WD, since we tow with a F350.

My theory is these rivets were never installed.

It would be helpful if posters would post one photo with the group that gives the viewer a clear idea of where the problem is located. Back off a bit and show a wider area so we know if this is an exterior photo, interior or what? The pics above show some holes with no rivets but aren't helpful to know what we're looking at. Photos posted online generally need to be cropped and reduced in size to display properly on a WEB page. You can do that in the phone with most phones.
For example: take a photo of the complete door including more than is needed for your post. Then crop/reduce the photo in the phone's editor to show just what you need and post that view. There will be fewer pixels in the photo and it will normally post correctly and right side up.

So the awning and the above door light didn't give it away?

Even under warranty, a dealer will most likely use Olympic rivets and shave off the heads. These will work as well.
