Rivet spacing

What is the "correct" rivet spacing for a patch? I have to place a few on the outside skin of my trailer. Is there a good source for figuring it out by size of patch?? I could always use a good book for my "reading" time......

Ted,
My standard is typically 2"-3" on center, but Airstream may be different. I also start on one corner and work both ways one rivet at a time to avoid puckering of the patch.

Rivets

This isn't a book, but has lots of good information on rivets, including MIL-specs RIVETs
(rivet spacing should be Minumum 3D and Maximum 12D, where D is the rivet diameter)
