Any advice on a rivet hole next to a rivet.

These are rivet holes left from deletion of the mid trim.

I had thought of chucking up a few rivets and turning down the head on the lathe.

Micro rivets?

How about drilling both and filling one hole with a bigger rivet that would hide the other hole?

I made an aluminum "button" big enough to cover both holes - and of course I set it in sacred holy vulkem.
