Rivet job

I need to attach an "AIRSTREAM" name emblem on the front of an propane bottle cover. I am adding the aluminum cover to my 1976 A/S and was able to get a great looking cover that had been on and A/S Excella. Since my A/S is not an Excella I took off the Excella name which was attached by 2 pop rivets. The new "AIRSTREAM" name emblem comes from VTS and will look great. I could use short pop rivets but will need from 6 to 8 rivets to attach properly and I don't think they will look good. I have Olympic rivets which would look very good after being shaved, but the inside of the cover would have 6 to 8 backsides of the rivets sticking out and could cause a problem. Since I can get to both sides of the cover is there some other type of bulb rivet that can be used that has the clean outside look that I want with a nearly flush inside.

Thanks

How thick is the metal on the cover? Typically, to do a flush rivet on metal it has to be at leat 0.040 thick. The thicker the better. You could glue a sheet to the inside to make it that thick. If you live near an airport go out there and talk to an A&P.
