Right front 'rock guard' damage

I park my AS in an RV lot in Marina del Rey, CA. Upon returning his Aristocrat to its storage space next to mine, my rv neighbor accidentally bumped our AS, hard enough that it pushed it off the front pedestal blocks causing it to run into the chain link fence behind the coach. Fortunately, the damage is modest (see attached photo). Any suggestions regarding where to have it repaired? LA Airstream? C & G Trailer Services? Elsewhere?

I would have C&G take care of it. I have our trailer serviced there when needed. I really don't like these storage places for this reason, I understand there might not be an alternative.

I would not use the word "accidentally". Sounds more like "negligence". Hope he has insurance to cover his negligent action.

Thanks, Michael. Good point on the verbage. I'm in touch with the Aristocrat owner, and he appears to be well insured, if he chooses to go that way. Upon subfan 1's recommendation, I contacted C & G, and emailed them photos for a repair assessment. I think we're on our way to resolving the problem.

Wasn't "accidental"...

As was pointed out, he was negligent by not having a second pair of eyes to assist him. I much prefer private INDOOR storage. Especially, for these costly beauties. This could have been a hit-and-run type of dude.

Negligence

For the most part, i enjoy AS forums, but i do find some people are very judgmental in their responses. Have you judgy types never made a mistake? Looks like a tight space to me & the owner is obviously well insured & taking responsibility for his "negligence". Jeez. Lighten up instead of making suppositions about a situation. Some people seem very angry & always look to place blame whenever possible. That's the crime i see here...

In life it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

That should not be a big deal. The sheet metal is stainless and will probably pop out when the aluminum rim is straightened. A good dealer should be able to try to pop it out, and if that doesn't work, replace the guard.

Hi everyone,
Thanks you for all your input. I am going to have C&G Trailer Service try to pop out the lower panel. If that doesn't work, we'll replace both panels, not just the window guard. Prices are a bit upside down, sometimes. That little rubber guard on the end of the bumper costs $4.50. The labor to install is $50! Go figure.

Those are both easily replaceable part- they just bolt on. So if they can't be repaired and have to be replaced, it's not the end of the world. Labor won't be much, but the parts won't be cheap.

I had a slight damaged rock guard and when passing by JC decided to have them repair it.

They did not - they replaced it saying that the cost to attempt repair would exceed the cost of replacing it. It was just the lower section that is pop riveted on that was damaged and I had assumed they would just remove that and replace it rather than the whole rock guard.

Brian.

I used to go to C&G. Once I found Area 63 Productions out near the 210 & 15 interchange. I left C&G behind. Area 63 even corrected things C&G got wrong.

Uwe who is the owner of Area 63 Productions is a forum member too.

Hi Goin Camping,
Thank you for your reply to my post. I wonder if Area 63 Productions is authorized to do warranty work on my AS. I'd be interested in why you prefer them to C&G or to LA Airstream.

While in the San Bernardino mountains recently, I discovered water at the base of the shower module. Interestingly enough, neither my wife nor I had yet used the shower, and we had just retrieved the coach from being in storage for over a month. Upon closer examination, I found that a bead of water extended along the entire base of the cabinetry, from under the fridge to a point past the shower where it puddled at the corner of the twin bed. Since our 25 Twin FB Serenity is still under warranty, I'd like that entire cabinetry removed to determine from where the water is originating. Would Area 63 be authorized to do that kind of work under warranty?
