Rib L bracket Questions

When stripping down to bare shell I noticed there were several L brackets (about 1 " angle steel) that sat in the C channel reinforcing the ribs attached in the C and on the side of the rib.All that remained were rusted.
I plan to cut new ones from 1/8 ' aluminum angle.
Should there be one on every rib at the C and only on one side or every other rib?
