Andy, Then what did they used to press? Because what they press now is not the same as what they used to. It is not even remotely close.

Binkers, your unit is not made of Alclad. What is offered currently will match perfectly.

If alclad is stretched, it will tear.

All segments are a softer material than the side sheets.

I really don't know what material it is, but it is softer, lending itself to being stretched.

Good example is when a coach receives hail damage.

The side sheets, since they are alclad, which is tempered stress relieved, recover from moderate hail damage simply by being exposed to the sun.

On the other hand, hail dents never disappear from any segments, since they are a different material.

I went through that thousands of times when I was with Caravanner insurance company.

Can they clad softer allows? I always thought the numbers were the alloy and the heat treatment followed and then labeled clad or not such as 2024 T3 clad or is only T3 clad?

I know that one... there is softer levels of alclad. T0 is very malleable. I make eyebrows from T0 since it allow me to bend the front edge 90 degrees. I love making eyebrows, it is virtually all hand work and changes the appearance like no other improvement can. I do not think it would work well as a segment however.
