Olympic Rivet Shaver Cutter
Does anyone know what the threads of the Olympic Rivet Shaver cutter bit are? I'm wondering if I can buy a replacement bit and put it in a microstop, either 1/4-28 or 3/8-24.
Thanks,
Al

I don't have one but would think it is in a collet not threaded in.

Thanks!
I spent over an hour on Google trying to find out. Can you send me the link? I want to figure out how I missed it.

Clearly order is important. I googled something very similar, but in reverse order.
Thanks again,
Al

Well yes you can put the rivet shaver in the microstop... it comes in 1/4-28 thread... but, if you do ... its critical of the angle... and is why they have larger guides on the drill gun shaver... but, yes I have used the rivet shaver in the micorstop... and it works... just keep it to the surface when spin'n
We do it all the time on aircraft when shooting cherry max's/locks... (brazier ...dome head) for the finish.
Olympic rivets are nice but we use the cherry max ones which have better strength... and look just as good. .. and the stub breaks off right at the surface...locking it with the strength of a regular rivet... and it seals up with little sealant needed ... if any
What ever you do ...DO NOT use pop rivets... they are pure junk... and look ugly with a hole in the center...
We all share one at the airfield... although I have it... you can rent them too...
I would not get it from airstream... aircraft supply , US tools, etc gives you a better quality... if you go for the kits of tools.. but you only need the cutter if you use the microstop...
hope this helps..
