New Skin Size

Is it normal for the new skin pices to be larger than what you have on the trailer. I guess what I am asking when I bought this trailer it came with all of the new skin 4 pices to replace what was dammaged. I have not pulled to old off yet but the new appears to be a little larger than what is there now but the same general shape.

All the new style segments, since 1969, are larger on both ends, and must be cut to fit.

All the side sheets are larger because of the necessary overlap between the sheets.

What're we talking about here. Quarter of an inch? Two inches?

I guess I'd rather have them a little too big than the other way. Are these from the factory?

The current widths of metal available from Airstream are, 33", 51" and 56.5".

The lengths available are limited in sizes, as Airstream has them for specific length trailers only. The maximum length is 307".

Yes they are factory skins.

Wow I got 2 of the off of the front. The hardest part is the adhesive used. It dosen't take much for it to hold on to the pannel. I have had enough fun for the day. My arms feel as if they could fall off. Tomorrow will be here before I know it.

I figured I have already saved the money to buy the tools I needed to accomplish this job.

Andy I may be a pro before this job is done. Need any help. Just kidding I am retired.

Segments are about 5 to 6 inches to long on each end.

Let me know if you need to borrow any tools. I'll be near Elk River next Saturday.

Actually I'll be at the Airstream Park for the Open House.
