need advice on repair

Can anyone tell me if I can use a rear compound segment from a '68 on a '61 Airstream? I know that the '68 panel is wider but I'm thinking it could be cut down and used as replacement. Any thoughts?

I don't think it would work. I could be wrong, of course. Try cutting a template out of cardboard that runs across the curve of the '68's skin. Get it to fit very tightly and then compare it to the '61. this would be a good starting point at least.
