Milwaukee 2550-22 M-12 Cordless Rivet Tool Kit

Just sprung for one of these Milwaukee 2550-22 M12 battery powered rivet tool kits. Really impressed with the tool quality and the ease of use. Will be a real time and labor saver and yes, while pricey it will likely pay for itself over time.

Thanks for the heads up on this M-12 tool. FYI there is a good thread about Lithium battery tools, with the M-12 line mentioned a few times. A great family of tools IMO. We have a drill, skill saw, and USB phone charging port, which is very handy and portable.

Especially handy on the road because you can use a large M-12 battery to keep misc devices going for hours.

I have been using this tool for 2 years. It has significantly improved the quality of my riveting because you can easily put pressure on the tool (and joint) while you pull the rivet. Unlike the manual tools. Much tighter seams.

I've been eyeballing this for a while but I have only riveted twice so I'm having trouble justifying the tool.

I have a pneumatic I purchased from harbor freight that works well if you want to cart around a hose and compressor. I was looking at these cordless options a few months back...time to revisit.
On another note, I had to replace my city water valve on my 2021...it was bad...no water pressure. Two of the mounting screw holes were oversized and would not hold the screws. The screws are held by the thin aluminum skin only. If I had bumped up from a #8 to a #10, the screw head wouldn’t fit into the recessed holes on the valves mounting plate. I decided to use regular pop rivets, not Olympic. I was going to calk the center of the rivet. Any foreseen issues with this?

Because it was a good point that bore repeating?

Feel free . . . all . . . to add to the Lithium Tool thread linked earlier, in order to this thread “riveting” . . .

I have had my AS for two years and don't know if I have popped any rivets. Is that something I should look closer at!

These "popped rivets interior site:airforums.com" search results should lead to productive pastures on that IMO:

Good luck,

Used it for the 1st-time today installing T-12 aluminum extrusion channel beneath the entire underside (surrounding) of our Classic M30 RQB in part with the forthcoming installation of Boogey Lights Underglow LEDs lighting.

Excellent tool that saved tremendous time and effort. Such that for me, it paid for itself today.

Sounds like a good game plan
