Lost an Old Friend

After 34 years of reliable service my 3X rivet gun has given up. I have replaced it with a new one but it just doesn't fit in my hand the same and I will have to relearn the trigger. REST IN PEACE

Interesting when an inanimate object crosses the boundary and becomes something more. I had a relationship with a camera for many years and when it was destroyed by an act of negligence, I was genuinely sad and felt as though I had lost a friend of sorts.
I raise my cup to your old pal and another time for your new one.

Is that possibly the rivet gun you would have had at vintage trailer academy.

Either way I bet it had seen rivets beyond count.

Should mount it like a hood ornament on the Airstream...

A riveting suggestion!

The patina of the old handle would match an Airstream well . . .

RIP

Yes it is, I'm guessing millions of rivets shot.

Well then we too will mourn the loss as it's the first rivet gun I ever used also.

Farewell old rivet gun and welcome new.

I'm not sure where our buyer purchased the new one at.

That's what I wanted to begin with but the company bought me a new one. I, however have already made arrangements to have it rebuilt. When it gets back I can leave it home for Airstream work.

I still had a 2X, 4X, and 5X so I was not without a rivet gun. I could also barrow a 3X from one of the other mechs.

Silly but relevant question...
I need a rivet gun, and wonder what you would suggest as it seems you have experience...
Budget is not huge, so what to look for used...
