Is this the luckiest Airstream

During a huge electrical/ rain storm a few minutes ago a tree came down on my '61. Check out the damage, she must be tough or lucky...

it appears to be a blessed 'stream...

my air-cat has been spared occasionally,

or has she really used UP a life or 2, too?

we are getting some bad weather here right now in VA and my neighbor has a large old oak that has one huge branch that hangs over my driveway where my AS is parked.
I am thinking of hiring a tree cutter to do some selective trimming.

If it's over your driveway, it's your limb. You can always ask the neighbor if he would like to remove it, or help with the cost of removal...
Parking under trees can be a double-edged sword.

I think I'll move it tomorrow ready for the next storm whenever that comes.. There's just trees everywhere!

The Airstream gods were smiling on you. Put an extra $5 in the plate at church tomorrow.

Holy cow! That was amazing. You (and your AS) are VERY, VERY lucky!

Actually, I think the shiny force field around the exterior is what diverted the limb...

Truckasaurus, I just saw this post. I'd been wondering how you and your '61 were doing, I guess now I know. I'm really glad the damage was so minimal, you are truly blessed!

Please be sure to keep us (okay... ME) updated on your restoration progress. As you know I love this year and model, and I'm eager to see what you do with yours.

Take Care.

The good the bad and the UGLY

Thanks, we're having storms in Virginia again today. ARGH! Nervous!

That crushed Airstream reminded me of a tornado we had in my home town one Saturday. The next day, Sunday we walked to church and the big old house right across the street from the church had a tree IN it. The owner was a member of our congregation and came to the service. He had been awakened by the storm, and not thinking anything got up to go to the bathroom. When he walked back into his bedroom, there was a tree in his bed! Someone WAS watching out for him!

Hope the folks in that Airstream were crouched in the campground's cement block bath house when that storm hit.

Paula

I think mine is lucky-er. Few years back, I had a similar sized tree, of about the same proximity to my 'stream, fall...trailer was untouched.

nowhere to hide, at my house, so we just have to accept the possibility. its in "the woods". Even if I clear-cut the property, my neighbor's "woods" could fall on just about any spot on my property, so....thats why we have insurance, I guess.

Over the weekend I rented a lift and took down 20 trees in my backyard. I was tired of sweating out the storms and trees splitting. The trees were close to the shed and I hope to add on to this shed in the future so I can park the trailer inside. I also plan on putting back a tree or two or using it for garden space or parking the trailer behind the house.
Any yes you can call me an idiot for do it this way but when I cut the trees I didn't want them to fall on the shed, large maple tree, power lines or the neighbors favorite tree..........

Here is a picture of the backyard before cutting.
