Glue, and Pulling Tabs not sticking...

Trying to get some dents out of my Motorhome.
Have a puller, various tabs, and the black glue.
I just cannot seem to get the tabs to stay stuck on the metal!
They pop off before I can get the dent moving..
Some sections are polished, some have clearcoat, some have weathered clearcoat.

Here in California, the general temp is about 70..
Do I need a different glue?
I tried wiping the skin with acetone, but is that the right thing?

Help!
