Verndiesel transports airstreams from the factory and goes west. He always looks for something to pull East.

You can stay on factory grounds while they are working on your rig. They have a nice customer lounge, free wifi and at 4:30 or so they will bring your AS out and you can sleep in it at night and save the hotel cost and drive from nearby towns. I highly recommend doing this. The lounge is normally very quiet and you should be able to work from there is you wanted to. When you need a break from working you can walk back and check on your rig. Watching these guys works is very informative and actually pretty cool to see. I learned so much from my week there I almost hated leaving. Just a suggestion

My service advisor said i'd need to be out of the trailer for at least 4 days, so I was planning to stay in Lima or the outskirts of Columbus as needed. But knowing there is a good lounge is great - I had no idea just how remote JC is! I am fortunate in that I can work wherever I have a good Internet connection.

It’s a long story and the incident was not my fault but- I had to have 5 panels replaced. They didn’t know if they could get it done in 5 days or not. They put their best body work guy on the job, he name is Greg, aka - the Animal. He was able to get it done in 5 days but let me tell you, this guy didn’t take a break, didn’t eat lunch, didn’t chitchat with other employees, the man worked HARD. He came in early and left late, he was amazing to watch and he was extremely nice on top of all that. With only an hour left, Greg got the job done perfectly in 5 days. IMO these guys are the most unappreciated folks in Airstream. They are the best of the best, they work hard day in and day out to fix or put our Airstreams back together and unless you get the opportunity to watch them work you will be missing a vital component of Airstream ownership. You just gotta watch.
JC is remote but it is worth staying and they do have the lounge area that has desks to work at and comfortable couches to relax on, I will warn you that the store is just way to close to the lounge and is unavoidable so hang on to your wallet when you go in.
They have a Verizon tower on property and at night you get to use your Airstream. You just have to be up and ready to roll by 7:00am. It was really a very pleasant experience.

they replaced five panels and you were able to stay in it at night? I wonder why they are telling me to plan on being out of it? With just the rear corner and three panels?

Did they just roll your camper out in the evening 'as-is'? Wondering about rain/weather and the like. sorry for all the questions!

i definitely want to take in as much as I can.. but the nearest hotel seems to be Lima, 35 miles away. I guess we'll see how it goes - maybe they are going to over-deliver

Have you already made the appointment? The answer to your question is yes, they rolled it out each night with a little bit of a bandaid over the opening. I don’t know why they are saying you won’t be able to sleep in it while they repair your damage but they must have a reason.
I do want to let you know that my body work and warranty work was done in March which is a slower time of year for them. We are at the beginning of travel season so I bet they are extremely busy now and will be busy until late fall. Maybe they are concerned that the work will take longer. I would asked again.

I thought fellow streamers would be interested in the progress that the amazing folks at Jackson Center have made in less than one full week.

Special kudos to Brad H., a manager, and Garrett P., a lead tech. They have been incredibly helpful, in addition to the front desk staff!

And I have to say, Geico has been great as well.

Great progress. I’m a fan of both Brad and Garrett - Garrett installed my emergency exit door. Love the AS service crew at the factory.

If Garrett is doing the work, you can rest easy that it will be good. Great guy and cares about what he does. Plus, his Dad works there, family affair.
