For those of you who are curious about the damage a highway safety barrel could cause, I've done the research for you. Attached shows current condition.
The interior redo is complete so I DO NOT want to gut it again. One interesting post suggests using a Central Pneumatic Air Dent Puller (Harbor Freight # 69718). I'll get one tomorrow unless a better idea comes from this thread.
Thanks,
Jim
I have had good luck with a "Ding King" puller. There are other similar pullers. Others have used pieces of wood attached to the dent with a hot glue gun to pull out the dent. I have been able to reduce similar dents by 90%. Creases in the dent will not be completely removed. Rock guards would hide any damage and look good.

I see your dent hit the vertical frame too.
You could pull the panel and replace or fix it. I think that would mean taking the window out, which would likely mean taking internal skins off, which if I understand you correctly - you do not want to do this.
I went ahead with the dent puller acquisition. After 10 minutes the dent looked a little better. Your suggestions are appreciated! I'm planning to ask my metal-smith brother in law to help fabricate panel protectors A.K.A. rock guards when he comes to NW Arkansas next.
