Dent

Need advice on how to repair this dent. We will need to replace the cover on the bumper storage but how should we fix the dent that happened when backing into storage. The tail light wasn't damaged and lights work. The bumper did get scratched but not dented. I did contact the airstream dealer..but it has been 2 weeks and I still don't have any estimates from the dealer. Looking for options. Thanks.

Check to see if the tail light housing can be removed. I am not familiar with that style of light, and possibly another member can advise. If it can be removed, you may be able to access the dent from the back and push out. Another option is to use suction cups and pull it out, or the hot melt glue pull. Often the paintless dent removal guys can do magic with this type of dent. Check with your local "good"body shop. Good luck, Chris

I agree pull the tail light and see how much room there is to push and pull on it. You may be surprised how much of it you can get out.

My 2 cents, that's a insurance claim and you need to replace that rear quarter panel anything less will look like a hack job. My estimate?? ,you are probably near 3-4 g's Sorry for the bad break.

Send pictures to Airstream Service and they will tell you how much. IIRC mine cost about $7,000, but insurance bought their estimate and never came and looked at it. Just paid up.

Try a 'paintless' dent repair outfit. Some have reported success pulling out dents much worse than that.

Others have used an inner tube and a sheet of plywood plus a shop vac to use a vacuum to pop the dent. it does not look badly wrinkled, so its a possibility.

Search the forums for more data...
