Deep scrape repair help

I'm a newbee, so excuse my lack of knowledge. I just bought a 71 25' land yacht in good condition in and out except one large deep scrape like some one scraped a tree limb near top of windows back about 16" long. The lil road rash dents don't bother me but this large one is a different story. Any idea of how big of a job as it appears to be 1 large panel. I'm in north Florida and have access to good welders and fab guys.

It depends where on the trailer and what panels it is in. Post some pictures when you can. If it's not in one of the end cap segments (the radius panels front and back) then with the right tools you can replace that panel (drilling out old rivets, and either installing with olympic rivets (a form of pop rivet with a solid core that you use an expensive tool called a rivet shaver to shape the head to look like a bucked (hammered) rivet.) Lots of folks on here have done panel replacements and have good tutorials/documentation of their efforts. It's worth some time looking around on the forums with the search tool and see what other folks have done, ask them questions etc.

Take a photo to a paintless dent repair shop for autobody repairs. They have some pretty neat tools and methods for repairing vehicle body panels - maybe they would have a solution for your Tradewind.

All the paintless dent guys I called here said they only work from the inside. I thought . . . heck if I remove the inside skin, I won't need the paintless guys. I was right.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Trouble uploading pix. But it appears to be a big section of aluminum that curves to make part of roof. Where doe I get old aluminum so it will polish and match?

Exactly what aluminum section are you asking about?
