Buffing a scratch on 2007 airstream

On a recent outing we noticed a scratch on the body of our trailer. You can't feel it but it is a scratch. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks in advance!

Depends on the finish on the rest of your airstream. What ever you do it's going to show all the polishing and buffing.
If you plan to do the whole camper then great. If not then you may have to decide how important polishing that scratch out.
If it can wait for the time you decide to polish that maybe the best thing to do. The scratch will not corrode or cause any degradation of that panel.

If the scratch is through the finish to the aluminum, filiform corrosion can begin there and spread under the finish creating an nasty looking area.

Occasionally we get a nick or scratch. I touch the scratch will CorrosionX preventative, wipe it off good and carefully cover the scratch with clear acrylic with an acrylic scratch pen, available at most auto centers.

If you're certain the scratch is not through the finish, you may want to polish the area with polishing wax, but the area may become more glossy than the surrounding finish.

Recently I've discovered a great way to hide little imperfections in my clear coat. I usually wax the entire Airstream twice a year but never liked the looks of the white residue around every rivet and in little stone chips. While waxing my black truck, I started dabbing around on the Airstream and discovered that the clear coat actually took on a deeper aluminum look yet the clear coat remained transparent and glossy. Since then I've tried all the available Black Wax made for dark color cars. I like Surf City Black Wax the best. If you try it you'll probably stick with it until something better comes along. It's easy to buy online. Not recommended to use on the white roof obviously.
