Belly Pan Rivet question

I just noticed that I have a few broken rivets in my 02 Safari belly pan with a few of the rivets holding the clamps for a water line. A couple of the heads have ripped through the pan.
So the questions are:
How should I repair the area around the damaged alum pan?
What is the size and lenght of the rivets needed to replace the old ones?
Can I drill out the rivets and use sheet metal screws?

VTS sells these rivets: Large Flange Rivets
which have larger heads and are made for belly pans.

Be careful when drilling out old rivets, there could be a water tank close by.
