Bambi dent

I managed to put a dent in my 16' Airstream. It just smushed in. Not torn or crinkled. I would love suggestions about how to go about getting it fixed. Would you go to an Airstream dealer or an autobody repair?

Thanks,
Frank

Before everyone chides you for not going through the search function (which is at the top of the page, let me tell you that many have had the same mishap and there are many ways to repair.

Perhaps if you posted a picture of the "smush", others will point you in the best direction.

Good luck!

Without a picture it's hard to tell how big the dent, ding is. A hairdryer and dust cleaner helps dings. Harbor Freight sells, suction cup pullers both 4 inch and 2 inch in their body shop section to possible pull it out.

I tried that method on a simple hood dent on my jeep. Was not satisfactory. A body shop took it out in no time after I wasted a lot of time with the hair dryer and inverted air can. It improved it slightly, but I could still see it, and this was a simple, no crease dent. So you get what you pay for (in this case the dealer paid for it and admitted fault, fortunately).

I have also used "pops a dent" kits. Again, they will take some of it out, but if you want it looking perfect you will have to have it professionally done.
