What is this on the Kitchen Wall?

Hello again. We purchased our 2005 Classic last Summer. It has a couple of metal bars above the range (see picture). We cannot figure out what they are used for. The bars are held away from the wall about an inch. The PO had a couple of hot pads stuck behind them. We thought maybe they were magnetic to hold knives, but they are not magnetic. Maybe they are just for looks. Ideas??

Also we are wondering if they came with the trailer or were added by the first owners.

Thanks for helping solve this (minor) puzzle.

David

Could you hang s-hooks on them and hang big spoons or potholders etc from them? Maybe they orignally had clips like that one them. Or those magnetc spice jars which look like lids? The magnets are on the little containers, so maybe they could stick to those strips.... Just a thought! I have no idea!

Possibly a towel rack. I would not want to hang anything flamable that close to the cooktop fire though. Maybe that's it...

Lets see...Perhaps the PO was a naval officer...

Two bars = Lieutenant...Three bars = Commander, and when you add a fourth, you're AS will be a full fledged Captain!

Might even be a magnetic knife holder (not a hanger if it is magnetic).

To me it looks like it is an Ikea Wall organizer (they have many styles) you hang different components from the rail.. I would check out their website or better yet visit a store. There are lots of great storage/organizational items there. (plus Swedish meatballs!)

I saw those yesterday in a cooking store. I believe they are made by Rosle, a German company. They hold a variety of kitchen tools, spice containers, etc. Check it out at: Rösle Open Kitchen Accessories

Of all the replies, I think bganso nailed it. I am going to have to check out their options for storage gizmos.

Thank you all for your thoughts and comments. I do like the Naval Officer idea though!!

Check out IKEA for less expensive versions of things that do the same thing as the Rosle ones.
