The 23D mattress blues.....
Mostly love my used 23 foot airstream, except for the horrible mattress and cramped bed area! I had a cool top memory foam topper made for the hard as brick original mattress, which is now comfortable. However, my biggest gripe is nowhere to put anything. Tired of waking up with my phone/ glasses/iPad/ etc. either lost in the covers, fallen down the side, or as is the case with my glasses- broken. Has anyone ever converted this area--added side shelving against the wall with a new sized mattress? Or installed some sort of wall storage-- something that will hold a glass of water, book, iPad, etc. Any advice would be much appreciated!
