Tambour door question
I have watched Kevin Tetz' tambour door replacement segment on youtube several times. I removed my tambours in my 1971 Safari but I clearly have a different setup than he had because my tambours do not roll around a wooden rod. They curve around a concentrically circled track at the left and right top sides. I'm planning to replace them with interlocking pvc fennel tambours in aluminum and am waiting for a sample from Tapease. Has anyone replaced with this stuff and does it roll properly around the circular track, as opposed to the straight track with a curve at the top? Does any of this even make sense without a photo?!! Thanks!
Also, when I'm done with the replacements I will need to get rid of the tambours (nearly all the cabinets are in great shape; only three or four had broken doors). I'll make someone a great deal because I don't want to just toss them if someone wants the really retro 70's walnut look.

I might be interested in your used tambour. Is it the one that goes below the kitchen sink area? Does your sink area go straight across or does it jut out a bit on sink side? PM me w/your deal, ok? Thanks.

Thanks for the offer,

Lithium grease worked to unstick several of our doors. I would love to replace our tambour with the aluminum look, like Kevin Tetz used on his Overlander, but that stuff gets expensive, when you're replacing all the doors!!!
BTW, does anyone know if that Overlander was Kevin's, or did he refurbish it for someone else? I get the impression, from watching the show, that he's been to this site for help, but I wonder if he's a regular? I have a million questions for him, more truck related than anything else. I thought he did a good job on the Overlander, overall, but the yellow paint for the walls wasn't my preference. To each his/her own, though. It still looked better than when he started with it.

Tradewind - there is supposedly a bit of a notch to the side of those tambours (just on left, I think, but maybe on both sides) where the tambour is suppose to rest. Maybe yours is broken off or thru time they have gotten out of alignment. I know our door latches have.
