Question Reverse Cove Molding to 1/4 round on cabinets?

I've seen from other posts that that vinyl/plastic strip that is stapled on to fill the gap between the endcap and cabinet is called Reverse Cove Molding but it looks like it's difficult to come by--I only need 6 feet (not 300). Is there any reason I couldn't put a piece of 1/4 round wood molding there to fill the gap? Does it have to do with movement of the cabinets during travel?

You can also use upholstery bead. It is available at most fabric stores, in all different colors. It's basically a vinyl rope with a 3/8in tang on it. Automotive fender beading is similar. The tang inserts between the wall and the wood, and the bead covers the gap.you can staple it to the wood before putting it against the wall.
