Replacing Tambour doors

Can anyone tell me how to install new tambor under the kitchen counter in a 73 overlander?

This is how I did it. Try to take out the faux walnut trim without breaking it (you probably will, but can glue it back together) on the vertical aluminum extrusion on the right corner of the counter. Drill out the rivets and remove the extruded aluminum. This will give access to the track.

I also cut the tambour into 2 equal lengths so that the whole piece does not have to go into the spiral track. The longer the tambour the more likely problems are to occur.

Thanks, I did see this video, but my tambour does not have a spring closure. The problem is how to get the tambour back in place under the counter?

Smile kitchen tambour replacement

I was looking for how to replace kitchen tambour, and saw your post. Have you tried to do this yet? How did you make out? I just finished the overheads, and they look great. I am shying away from the galley area because of the curved config, and all that it seems to curtail. So please update me with any info you gain. Thanks

I replaced the Tambour below the sink in my Tradewind. Bought Maple tambour on the web and stained with Minwax. It's a near perfect match to the 72 plastic laminate and looks much better. It sticks some in the bottom track cause it's bend some but slides back into the corner box. I cut about a 6" piece and fixed to the right side corner so that the left section doesn't have to slide all the way across. Took some work to slide into the track but is doable.
