Replacement Latch for wardrobe (closet) Door
Our sliding wardrobe doors have RV Designer push latches.
Every year I replace one or two (or perhaps more) of the plastic strikers. They become casualties of rough roads. Has anyone found a sturdier replacement?
Thanks,
Ken

You might try Rockler. It is a wood working company with stores across the country.

Check out the marine parts catalogs and parts stores. They have stainless steel hardware that is designed to take a lot more abuse than our Airstreams. Their parts are pricey, but will probably last forever in an Airstream

Here is what I came up with.
I ordered RV designer H317.
It is still plastic, but much heavier construction that the stock strikers.
It is compatible with the existing latches, but requires drilling 1 new hole because it is longer the the stock ones.
RV Parts, RV Accessories, RV Hardware, RV Drapes, RV Curtains, RV Curtain
Regards,
Ken

So glad you posted this - we have those latches on our Argosy closets. I thought the latch was broken, but it was just in the closed position! Now I know where to get one for the other closet. They seem very heavy duty.
