Removing Storage Locker

I have a 1962 26' Overlander and would like to remove the original storage locker. I'd like to simply remove it, and refinish the wall to be smooth. Has anyone removed one like this or have any advice in doing so? It looks to be built in, with no visible screws.

Thanks for any advice!

That headlocker is formed into the end cap. Its either thermoplastic or fiberglass with a gel coat. To remove it, I would think youd have to shallow cut around the perimeter then patch back. Otherwise youd have to remove the end cap and do the same with a little more room. Its going to be tough to patch back and make the patch disappear. Once cut, maybe stained 1/8 plywood or aluminum segments to cover the entire end cap, as many have done, so it all looks the same. My thoughts. Good luck. Bubba

Hi Bubba, ah I see. I think you're right - the 1/8" plywood would help cover the patch.

Thank you for your kind and helpful reply!
