Relocation of Hanging Bars in Closets
Our 2006 Int'l (28') has a walk-around queen bed with a hanging closet on both sides of the bed. A good portion of the closet is not useful for hanging space because of the inset shelf (sort of a mini nightstand) that was designed for use to put your "stuff" (book, clock, wallet, etc.).
As it is, only about half of the bar can be used for hangers. Anyway, moving the bar forward 3-4 inches or so would make room for more hang-up items. Hangers would still fit in the depth so I'm not sure why the bar is located as far back as it it. I'm just really cautious about screwing things into the outer wall. Has anyone else gone this or know any reason that this could not be done in this location?
I've thought about completely eliminating the box/shelf or making it smaller but would prefer to just move the bar if possible. We have converted our other hanging closet to pantry storage and would like a little more space for hanging clothes.
Thanks in advance for any advice, tips, etc.
Debbie
