Refurbing Goucho

I am going to take a stab a refurbishing the Goucho this winter. We have a fouton in there now and it is not very good for sitting at the table. I was wondering how well the fouton matress would fit the goucho frame. At some point we may make some new cushions for it or just redesign the whole living/eating area. I am leaning toward a dinet but I want to live with the original configuration for a while before I make up my mind.
