Rear Queen Bed Platform/under bed storage
I am remodeling a '76 Ambassador. The original rear queen bed platform wasn't in bad shape, however, it was pretty much impossible to pull out the trays to access stored items from the side along the rear wall. I want to build a platform/storage like the one I have seen in a 2007 International model where the bed lifts up from the bottom 2/3 of the way up on gas struts. Storage is much easier to access from cabinet doors on the aisle side and from the foot of the bed. Also, since there is not over the bed cabinets like in the newer models, I could make the platform higher to increase storage space. Has anyone done this or have suggestions/measurements to make this work?
