Overhead cabinet removal

I am considering taking out the front overhead storage cabinets in my MH to redo them. They have small cracks from expansion I guess, that I have stopped by drilling a hole and filling the crack in, but it does not look as good as I would like it to.
I thought if I pull the smaller one over the right side dinette, to start, that I could effect a better repair, and then paint the whole thing with a zolatone style paint.
Any thoughts on what to look for in this? I have the service manual with some exploded drawings of these in it. Seems like they would not be too hard to pull off.

Alan,

They should not be too tough to get out, but I would be concerned about maintaining the shape as you reinforce them. You might want to make a jig to hold the unit while you do the reinforcing. It would be a bummer to have fixed and finished the cabinet, only to stress the repaired cabinet to the point that you re-crack the unit on install.

Also you need to research the zolotone on ABS. David Winick did his front end cap with it, but had to go through a multi product painting method to get it to bond properly.
