New countertop

During my ongoing upgrade/restoration project (1955 FC), I decided to replace the countertop. P.O. had replaced whatever was there originally with a forrest green formica that was coming unglued. I opted for a more modern, stainless look.
I started with a commercial kitchen work table: Amazon.com - TRINITY EcoStorage NSF Stainless Steel Table, 48-Inch - Stainless Steel Work Tables
Then took it to a waterjet cutter to trim it to size and make a sink cutout. The beauty of waterjet cutting is that it leaves a clean edge and does not warp the stainless since it does not generate heat while cutting. I removed the stiffeners underneath and cut a piece of 3/4" ply to support the top. Then mounted the sink and dropped the whole assembly in on top of the cabinet.
Next will be metal backsplash tiles :-)

The sink counter looks excellent, very clean and easy to maintain.
