Microwave Door

Door slide with microwave opened during travels yesterday. First time event after 10,000+ miles of towing. We hit a very rough section of I75 and even with reduced speed this event occurred. Looking for options to secure during travels.

"Footman loops" and a tension strap is what I use to keep doors and fridge shut on rough conditions. Google to find the loops.

I'm going to install this.

Depending on what's across from the microwave, I'd consider a dowel with rubber crutch tips to prop the door closed (I did that with a sliding closet door in the MH.)
I guess some folks use a bungee, but that's not very elegant.

I didn't trust the latch on my microwave cabinet door so I added baby-proof cabinet door latches. They're available at Target, Walmart, Home Dept, Lowes, etc.

Not beautiful, but I don't worry about the bumpy road anymore.

We have used the magnetic child locks on several cabinets.

They work great because they hold up great when moving and can easily be disabled once you arrive so you aren't dealing with them all of the time.

We bought them at lowes but I think they are pretty common.

We haven't seen any that can be disabled. We're currently on the road.
